My name is Jody Soileau. I’m the Development Director of BCF and pleased to be a part of this first edition of Bienvenue à Broussard! The Broussard Chamber Foundation (BCF) is a registered 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. This foundation can facilitate funding of community programs and projects through tax-deductible, charitable donations the Foundation receives and through grant applications. The mission statement for our Foundation reads, “To serve as a catalyst for economic & cultural growth, resulting in the creation of a vibrant and prosperous community”. Our mission is to serve not only the Broussard area, but the Acadiana Region and beyond.
This Foundation mission aligns with the purpose of the Broussard Chamber of Commerce, which is to build a strong and vibrant business community. As a 501(c)(3), the Broussard Chamber Foundation can partner with both the City of Broussard and Broussard Economic Development on raising funding for projects that create a stronger economy and a better quality of life for all of us. Think of things like tourism projects, recreational facilities, such as an expanded senior center, or perhaps providing funding for a workforce development program. The possibilities are numerous. As a Foundation, we can also develop our own initiatives to better the community. We are extremely proud of our first initiative, the Brent Henley Youth Leadership Program, which you will learn more about in the next edition of Bienvenue à Broussard.
Additionally, as a registered non-profit, we can be fiscal sponsors for other organizations who want to raise money for charitable purposes, but that organization doesn’t have a non-profit designation. Our Foundation can accept tax-deductible donations for your cause and even create a website landing page that accepts credit card transactions, making for a greater opportunity of reaching your fundraising goals. And, like other Foundations, we can create a legacy for generous donors who want to make grants to their favorite causes, well beyond their lifetime.
Would you like to be part of an organization whose purpose is to create positive change in our communities? All it takes is your one-time donation. To help fund our initiatives, BCF is offering an opportunity for donors to become a “Founding Member” of the Broussard Chamber Foundation. The first 100 members who invest at the Patron Level or above, will be known in perpetuity as “Founding Members” of the Foundation and will be forever listed as such with our organization.
